I cannot view my converted movies in Windows Media Center? Do I have to move them to the "videos" directory versus leaving them in the "converted videos" directory? Both folders are selected to be shared and I have set-up applicable users to have access to the converted videos directory. I'm not sure how to get to that directory via Windows Media Center?

Hi, New to the mediasmart and have some questions for anyone out there streaming to an PS3. Are you using Twonky? Does it work well? What is the best format of video to have that will stream the best to the PS3? Any and all info - especially what I can't think to ask - would be appreciated. TIA, Grant

I was wondering if anyone has used this http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002CNOYRS/ref=s9_wish_co_tr02?ie=UTF8&coliid=ICB1RVYV6QVW5&colid=1B12VJXWBZXHF&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=left-3&pf_rd_r=1WZFRNY3BA9GAJ93KVDN&pf_rd_t=3201&pf_rd_p=493495431&pf_rd_i=typ01 with the EX495 ? Is it a good UPnP player ? how would I set it up ? just connect it to the network ? I'm kinda new when it comes to streaming media on my home network, right now what I do is I view my movies with an external HD through my Wii but I want something that gives me HDMI and also eliminate the hassle of copying files from the server to my external HD. Any other players that you would recommend on that price range ? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Would you like to check for updates?

I'm trying to watch a Blu-Ray disc movie on my HP Pavilion dv7 laptop with HP Mediasmart player. But every time I press play, a window opens asking, "Would you like to check for updates?" When I click yes it acts like it's checking but then the window reappears every time! When I click no it goes away but when I press play again the window reappears! Is there an automatic update or a way to turn off the update checking request or... something!! I can't even watch a movie on my brand new computer! It's always something... P.S. I have it hooked up to my TV via HDMI. I doubt that has anything to do with the update notifier but who knows?!

MediaSmart vs. Mac OS X Snow Leopard

Being an upcoming Mac user and mediaserver owner, I have tried to sort out whether or not the MediaSmart EX490 works properly with my new MacBook Pro - and especially Time Machine and filesharing in the OS Snow Leopard. I am in doubt whether to pick the EX490 as I need my mediaserver to be available in a mixed environment with both Win-PC's and Mac's. Can anyone help with a quick answer, as I have to decide today?
