MediaSmart Connect x280n - Internet radio options?

I am about to buy a MediaSmart Connect x280n but I would like to get some information from a current owner. In MediaSmart mode (i.e. not as an extender) is it possible to play Internet radio stations other than through Live365? I seem to recall that if you create a playlist in WMP11 with a regular HTTP MP3 stream you can play that playlist on the x280n. If so, can the stream be played without the PC (e.g. by adding it as a favorite)? Ultimately I owuld like to use my Logitech Harmony remote to set up an action that turns the unit on and starts playing my favorite Internet station without the need for the PC to be on. Please let me know if this is possible. Thanks, Arnoud

Hi, everyone. thanks for having me here. Thsi is my first post and I hope I am posting at right place. If not and I am asking the question all ready been asked, please guide me to right place. Thank you. I recently purchased a Hp MediaSmart Connect x280n. My set up is, MediaSmart to tv via hdmi cable. I also have desktop pc running windows vista with large hard drives. I backed up some of the movies to create video library. The movies are riped in vob file. Using magic dvd ripper, I can see and play the movie on my pc using windows media center on my desktop. I can also see the files on my tv via mediaSmart connect. But when I tried to play it to the tv I get "No vedeos were found. Either there are no vedeos. or your vewing an empty folder". This is the part I am stuck. I read somewhere about creating a symbolic file, but direction was not clear enough for me to make anything out of it. When I rename one of the vob file to mpeg, the movie plays fine. But I aslo read that I am not...

It's the time of year we spend extra time with friends and family, from parents and siblings, children and grandchildren, and even the coat-tail relatives we see only on special occasions. With all this time spent with our loved ones, it would seem like a perfect time to whip out the home movies and share memories of the prior year. Jr.'s little league home run, little Cindy's school play, baby's first crawl, and even Mom's destruction of the kitchen during the Thanksgiving preparation. But we don't... Only rarely do home movies make it into holiday festivities. Has the reputation of home movie watching really beenso tarnished by crappy slideshows and 8mm projectors that we just give it a chance in the modern age? Or, is it that modern day hard drive and flash camcorders, the kind that store those digital memories in a folder on your home PC, make it too difficult to share during family occasions because no one wants to huddle around the office computer? It's time...

Anyone know of a way to set the subtitles default to off on the MediaSmart Connect? My VOBs stream well using PVConnect, but the x280n displays the subtitles by default. I can change them using the red button, but I was wondering if there was a way to set it to default to "off".

Video stream in Media Center..not working

I set up streaming for my server. I show the music and photo's. The video does not show though. I am using windows Vista Ultimate. What format do my videos have too be in so media center will recognize them? Like I said the photo and music show both on my PS3 and Laptop but the video does not. Also what format or type of file do I need to rip my video in so the applications just open it? Right now my videos are in mPEG4....PS3 format. If i click on start on my laptop and go to networking and click on the server Icon I can go to my shared video on the server and then select what program to run it and it runs. If I go remotely through WMS the files shows but won't give me an option of a program too run them. IF I double click them they say that they can't play that format. Any help would be great. This forum looks great....Hope you all can help. I'm new too using servers.
