Twonkie and iTunes: problems??

Hello I have the EX490 with Twonkie Media Server and I installed iTunes 9 on top. I need the iTunes because of its homesharing function... iTunes server on the EX490 is not enough. Now Twonkie Media. I have 40000 songs, 30000 photo's and 500 video's... When I share photo and video, all OK! When I enable music sharing (need it for web streaming and DLNA) the twonkie takes 100% cpu for the future until I kill the process (last night, 15 hours 100%...). What are my options? I need the iTunes but I need an additional UPNP streamer! PLEASE ADVICE... thanks

MSS 495 and Macs

So I picked up a 495 a couple of weeks ago and added a second 1.5 tb drive to it. I think it's awesome honestly. I've run into a couple issues with the software side though. The first was with HP's Media Collector. See, I am pretty much completely Mac based in my home. I have over 200 gig worth of itunes movies, tv shows and music. MediaCollection started off ok, it recognized my mac and even started copying files over. After copying 1000 files or so it just stopped copying. The number of pending files increased over time, but nothing ever copied. I let it sit for days thinking it was large files or what not, but it never continues copying. I read posts about song names possibly confusing the collector, but I wasn't about to rename 1000 songs. I tried everything to get it to work again, but I finally ended up just manually copying the files over to the server. The bigger issue now though is the Twonky Media server. Now that my files are all on the server I have Twonky enabled and scanning my shares. It seems to recognize all of my photos from my...

Converted Videos not showing Up in Video List

I have a Medismart Ex 485 with tow 1 tb seagate barracuda hardrives. I bought it back in January or February before the 2.5 upgrade and video streaming was available. I was pleasantly surprised after the upgrade to see that there was video streaming and I converted a few videos at the time and it seemed to work quite well. Previously when I went to the videos tab and clicked on the choice for "converted-full" videos, I would see the list populate with my converted videos and could play them fine. After a few upgrades the list no longer showed any of the converted videos despite the converted video folder being populated with hundreds of video clips. Additionally I was having trouble with the Itunes server. I finally got annoyed with it not working correctly and I did a server restore back to the original software and then did the 2.5 upgrade again and reconverted some videos, but the streamer still doesn't show them in the list of videos. Am I doing something incorrectly? Is there a patch for this? Thank you for any help or advice. Jamso

Has anyone installed Streambaby on an ex490?

I'm investigating installing Streambaby to allow me to stream video content to my Tivos. It's not clear if I need to install the Java Runtime Environment in order to get this to work. I have seen some posts saying it is necessary, but others that say the MSS comes with JRE included. I'd appreciate instructions from anyone who has done this, and also instructions on how to check to see if JRE is already included. Thanks.

I have recently bought a EX 485 and in fact had one sent to me here in the UK from the states I have tried using the version of Twonky media that came with it with limited sucess Every time I go into the console and look at the settings I notice that it has stopped sharing I have clicked on start sharing and there are no error reports but then when I look at media streaming it reports there is no connection to the server. I then go back to the console and notice that sharing has stopped. Any ideas most welcome Regards

I'm thinking of getting both the one that let's you stream from the TV to computer and the one that let's you go the other way. but they would be so much more valuable if they could get the media files from the server. Any thoughts?
