<title>What would you do in a DIY WHS</title>
      <link>http://www.mediasmarthome.com/forum/thread/13034/What-would-you-do-in-a-DIY-WHS/?src=category_rss</link>
<description>I have thought about this a few times. Even pondered over building a DIY server or the MSS. I finally decided for the MSS primarily becase of simplicity and the integration HP already had built for it. But if you find you are outgrowing the MSS what would be the important pices you would include in your home made WHS server I already figured out that I was going to start with a low power quad core phenom like the 9100e, and then a tower case with 9 external 5.25 bays so i can convert them all to 3.5 hotswap bays. I found a way to do that and essentially get 15 drive slots. And then a few extra Disk controllers to enable each of them. The number of disks is the only reason i see to do it, and i am thinking 15 would be more then enough. What are your thoughts on DIY a home server.</description>
