Just began setting up my server and got to the part that wanted to do HP software updates. Said update 2.5 needed to be installed. Clicked ok and got a progress window for about 30 seconds. Window went away and got the Server Console window. Cursor has an hour glass and can't do anything. I assume the software is updating but have no way of telling since the progress window is gone.

Anyone have any suggestions? I've searched the forum but couldn't locate anything on this particular problem.

Thanks in advance...

You will need to update manually to get past this. Go to the HP support site below and download the 2.5 update. Further instructions are on the page.

Thanks for your reply. I downloaded the software but don't know how to manually install it. I didn't see further instructions on the page. Tried from my pc and it said I didn't have 2.1 installed and I should install that first. Can't find 2.1 on the HP site. Copied the software to the server and tried to install it but got the same msg. Searched the forum but couldn't find out how to manually install it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Copy the downloaded file to the WHS Desktop. (Sometimes it is better to copy to the shares folder then use Remote Desktop Connection to move it to the desktop)

Run the file from the WHS Remote Desktop connection.

If it will not install properly then first open a Command Prompt and type "sc delete whssetup" then enter (without the quotes).
