It seems that my ISP blocks port 4125, which basically prevents me from getting remote desktop access to my Mediasmart server from the internet. Is there any way to change the port that the server uses for Remote Desktop Proxy?

What about using port forwarding in your router?

I do have the router set to forward port 4125 to my Mediasmart server.

I did a few more tests using Shields Up (running from a remote desktop session on the server)

1) ran probe on port 4125 with port forwarding turned on to send to my server and it shows the port as closed

2) turned off port forwarding, and ran the Shields Up test again, and it shows the port as Stealth.

Now I'm more confused. Not sure if the problem is my ISP, router or Mediasmart server.

I thought RDP used port 3389 by default. You can change that port # to whatever you want in the registry. Just be sure to forward it in your router when you're done.
