The health indicator light is blinking red.

The manual says: "Blinking red—power on test has failed or BIOS failed"

 - but I have spent a lot of time trying to find the remedy for it. There are NO directions of what to check in the manual or anywhere on Google of what to do.

I love this server - have my own with 4TB and now I got 2 more that I bought used and fixing up for friends. One of them has this error message. Started off with that the WHS connector can not find the server on the network. Have 4 new hard drives just formatted.

Replaced the RAM - still the same error.

What else could it be?

Found this great link on how to access the BIOS - but will it resolve anything?

I'm at a dead end - don't know what part on the mortherboard to check or test next.

Would appreciate help and directions.

Thanks

You can get a more detailed error code using a paper clip in the hole next to the light. See here for the codes:

Thanks for your reply.

You're correct - that is exactly what I found and how I got the code.

I blinks red after pushing in the paper clip for 5 secs.

So if the BIOS failed - what is the handling?

If it's under warranty then you need to call HP for a motherboard replacement. If it's OOW (Out of Warranty), HP now offers OOW service on the MSS.

Alright! That sounds a bit more promising.
I bought it used and have no receipts - OOW for sure.
Do you have a link or a phone number I can contact?
Any idea of prices?
Options of buying spare parts?

Thanks again
