I have a similar issue. I can't see the Converted Videos at all. I see the Twonky Media server from the XBOx but no Converted videos folder. I have even disabled all the other twonkey shared folders and nothing.

I have My Movies on my WHS where I have movies stored, as well as them converted using HP video converter. I can access My Movies from my xbox 360 and it shows all the movies, with cover art, but when i try to play a movie, I get a message that the movie is a unsupported video format. I thought the HP video converter, converts DVD's (commercial) to a supported format by the xbox (mp4)? If this is correct, then what's the issue? Thanks
What specific video formats does the xbox support? Had you not re-encoded your video and left it as mpeg I am pretty sure the xbox would be quite happy. IMHO re-encoding SD DVD to save HDD space does not make much sense but to each his or her own.
As far as Transcode 360, it is a good transcoder but you will now be trancoding an already re-encoded video and the net will probably be a fair amount of PQ loss. Transcoding and re-encoding always results in PQ loss.

Are you trying to view these files in Windows Media Center extender mode? If so then according to this: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/923341?sd=xbox you can not play .mp4 files.
Also, take a look at this: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/945416?sd=xbox
To view video file details I suggest getting and installing MediaInfo(freeware).
It seems as though the XBox 360 is quite picky about how the .mp4 was encoded and that it needs to be in an avi wrapper. There are a number of freeware apps that will take .mp4 video and wrap it in avi. There is no video loss and the process only takes a minute or so. MP4Cam2AVI is one that comes to mind.
The main reason I have stayed away from the XBox 360 is because it has such a short list of video file formats that it will play. That and the noisy box.

That is good info.
Thank you.

You are welcome. What is your take on the Xbox 360?
I have never owned one and I am repeating what I have read and heard from friends who own them. Fan noise is a constant complaint but supposedly you can quiet the fan with software at the expense of letting the box run hotter. It is Microsoft so that in my book is a knock against it.

I am not a big fan of Microsoft either. If the XBox 360 were cheaper I may have given it a try. I wonder what happened to the original author of this thread?
i think like most of us xbox users, still struggling to get this to work
i wonder if version 3 of the software for ex485 with the new twonky will be any better?
I love the Xbox 360...Great Multiplayer gaming console and great for streaming Netflixs. Agree on the limited file format, also a problem with my PS3. That is why I have 2 Popcorn Hour media box's that will just about read and play anything. I rip current library to MKV's and play from the Popcorn hour box. Currently, using a 1 TB USB drive, but purchased a 2 TB to go into my new server, when I get one in a week or so. Trying to decide DIY or HP MSS. Almost completely decided on the EX 495 just because of the size foorptint. I did try to remux some of my MKV's to ts and m2ts (PS3 file formats), but decided it was just easier to buy a media player. There are many out their, started out with a WD Live, good player, but I wanted a movie jukebox, which the WD will not do. Moved to the PCH, but have yet to play with the movie jukebox stuff, mainly waiting on the server to locate all the movies in one place. The new A-200 PCH is supposed to have integrated graphics movie wall in the next software update that will do it all by itsself. Currently, on the A-110 and A-200, you have to use add on software to create the movie jukebox display.
I have an EX485. Save the DVD to my server in the native vob format. Media Converter then converts the video. My Xbox360 views the converted file with no issues. When I first tried to view a file the Xbox told me it needed to download something to enable viewing of the files. It did that in less than 1 minute and all has been good since. It will not view the native vob files.
