HAve you tried restarting the server? It could also be caused by your router. I would start with restarting the server and if that doesn't fix it reboot the router next.

I just back from a vacation in FL and while their I couldn't access my server. Everything was working before I left. I could hit one of the cameras, but not the other. I had to "POR" the camera but have no idea why I couldn't access the server. A storm blew through Nashville on Monday this could have had something to do with it, but no signs of a power loss and just about everything I own is plugged into a UPS. Using the "https://" = nothing but using "htpp://" I could hit the splash screen HP Photos, Remote Access, Shared Files", etc. but couldn't get beyond this screen. I'm headed back out tomorrow and will see if anything has changed. I wondered if the condo furnishing the wireless was blocking access since this IP is not certified.

Rebooted server--no help. It's probably the router (Linksys WRT-600N). I love it but it seems that it needs rebooting every once in a while. And, it also seems that Linksys is not supporting it. They haven't had a firmware upgrade since the launch.
I have an older linksys that I used to have to reboot once a month or so. Now I have an ActionTec from Verizon that I seem to reboot weekly. Gets to be a pain in the backside....

Once again, back at station and cannot hit my server. I have the url's bookmarked and have changed no settings since it worked the first time. Worked fine yesterday inside the lan. Re-booted router, modem and server. I don't know maybe I need to reconfigure the remote access settings...Oh, I can still view both IP cams with the same url + :port number.
If the router is letting you through to the cameras then I would look at the remote access setup on the server. Unconfigure it then set it back up again. But before doing that, I would look at the port forwards on the router and make sure they are correct.

It worked for sometime. I let the UNP forward the ports. Which ports besides "80" need to be forwarded?
UPnP doesn't always work. I would manually assign them if I were you. I can't remember which ports to forward exactly. I bet pardizzone knows or maybe do a quick search.
When you find the ports, you can use this site to help you with your particular router:

Ports 80, 443 and 4125, all TCP.

Update: I manually assigned ports 443 and 4125 as described to the server. Since doing this I it allowed me to bounce back to the server. I will test it tomorrow from the fire hall. The route: HP MediaSmart Server Desktop Shortcut (Console) > Settings > Remote Access > Domain Name Link > Browser. Is this really going out and back in? I wasn't able to do this prior to assigning these two different ports. My next major concern is: The server has become extremely slow to respond to any request. It was very snappy from the get go. Didn't really notice any change after installing Avast. I copied one pc's "My Documents" folder and all my music from a portable drive to the server. All back-ups and duplication is turned off since I have several layers of duplication, including off-site in place already. This has been an enjoyable learning experience, but at this point I don't know where the bottle neck is...I believe it may be the software (2.5). Every client is hard wired to with cat6 and gigabit where possible. If I hit the server via pc via a browser without using the software and within the lan it seems much faster. It's about time for me to reformat and reload all the software on my main desktop. So, maybe this will speed things up. Thanks to all for a great forum. One that I haven't seen not one negative comment or "slam". dm

After opening the additional ports, I click on the link to my server (remotely) and the progress wheel just keeps turning. The only difference from before is that it doesn't time out. Tomorrow I think that I will reconfigure all involved with the remote access and go from there.
Back at the station and still cannot hit my server, but can access both cameras. What's up? The cameras are the same url with the port number for each respectively tag on the end.
