Hello,

Does anyone know how to setup the media collector to get files from other than C drive?

I have my media files at HP Vault, what is the Q drive on my desktop, but the media collector on my EX485 collect files only on C drive.

Thanks

Hmm, interesting. I think I might have similar issue. Or may be not.

All my media (movies, music, photos) are on M: drive. And Windows 7 is on W:. And it seems that Media Collector refuses to pick up Music from M: whatever I do (I tried adding it to WMP library, mapping My Music to M:, etc). Though Photos were collected without any problems.

If I get it right, Collector should pick-up files from ANY drive as long as they are not in the TEMP, TEMPORARY, etc folders, which are automatically excluded from back-ups and probably from Collector as well. If folder's name has Photos, Pictures, Movies, etc in it, it should be included.

Check the log file that Collector creates in C:/TEMP/Windows Home Server/ folder, it might give you a clue.

Best regards,

Same here - I have several partitions for different media that are being overlooked despite the settings to check all drives.

I'm curious about this and NAS media files. How can I direct the collector to pull all these together in the WHS?

Any additional info?

Interested in this as well. Moved My Documents to 2nd hdd (G:\) and media collector does not collect from there. I do not want to have it search all folders on all drives. I want it to work like it should - any idea how to point WHS/HP in the right direction?

I'm having the same problem. I have music files on a networed storage device mapped as M: drive. I won't bore you with the entire log, but thought this portion might point someone to coming up with a solution:

Getting last run time
Loading configuration
|CJ695830-A| == |CJ695830-A|?
Trying \\HPSERVER\Photos\testAccess.tmp
Trying \\HPSERVER\Music\testAccess.tmp
Trying \\HPSERVER\Videos\testAccess.tmp
Should we collect media now?
Creating client type: Photo
Bad locMusic path \\n4100pro\itunes_music

N4100pro is the model of the Thecus NAS that contains the files.

Thanks,
