LAN or wifi shouldn't make a difference. Do you have an account on your server set up as the same exact username/password that you use on your PC?

When I connect my laptop to LAN with cable I'm not able to get access to shared folders on server. When I disable LAN and go Wi-Fi everything works without problem. The message I recieve is \\servername\sharename is not accessible. You might not have permissions to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions when connected via LAN.
Yes, my login is identical. As stated when I login I can't access the shared folders. Both my wi-fi and ethernet are enabled. After disabling the ethernet during the session the shared folder is accessible with only wireless active.
Can you describe your network in more detail (i.e. router model, if there are any switches in the mix, OS version, etc). I have my laptop wireless and if I connect a wire and disble the wireless, I can still connect to everything.

Router is Linksys RVS4000
Switch is Linksys SR2024
Access point is Linksys WAP54G
The Media Server is connected to the switch, as the laptop. The laptop's OS is XP Media Center. After logging in with the laptop the wireless and LAN connection will both indicate connectivty. The normal daily backup to the Media Server will execute. However the Media Server shared folders are not accessible as stated until I disable the LAN network connection.
If you start up with the wireless disabled can you connect then? Does the connector icon turn green?

Interesting, with a single connection wi-fi or lan it works. With both I have to disable the lan to get connected.
I'm no networking pro, but I have been around awhile. I can't remember what it is call, but when you have them both enabled it could be trying to default to one sending and the other receiving. That could have been what pardizzone was leading up to. This generally isn't something enable by default but could happen depending on the network hardware involved. Unfortunitly I don't know what to tell you to actually look for (maybe pardizzone will), but it may give you another way to ask around. You might also make sure you have the latest drivers for both the lan and wi-fi.
