First off, I hope I am posting int the correct area.If not, I am sorry.  Here is a question for all of you experts out there. I purchased the HP Media Smart Server EX485. I unboxed it got everything hooked up {ie network} I copied over all of my Movies that I currecntly had which was about 232. I also copied over about 655 Photos to start. Then I copied over all of my music. This was about 425 Gigs {75,000 to 80,000 Files}. When I log into my home server either from outside of my network or from within, It show that I only have about 49,547 Songs.  It would seem that everytime I reboot the home server, more songs are added to the file count.  Also, When I try to open the media streamer from outside of my network, it takes forever to load, if it loads at all. Can anyone help with this.  I am not sure if I am doing something wrong or if this is just one of those things.  Thanks in advance for any replies.

Jerry

You probably need to let it run for a while and complete indexing, etc. This can take a while if you enable everything at once in a new machine, especially if you also set up an anti-virus at the same time as everything else.

Give it a day and check the progress. Post back here when either (a) you stop making progress or (b) it completes and you can post success!

Welcome to the World of MSS/WHS, byt the way!

Thanks for the response. I have not enabled anti virus yet and it has now been over a month. Not real sure what to do here.
