Hey everyone. I am a newbie to this site and there is some fantastic information. I have reviewed various threads on this topic looking for a solution to my problem but I haven't been able to find it.

I just purchased the 485 and I am interested in storing all of my iTunes music files on the MSS but I am not sure entirely how to do this for my situation. Here goes:

Currently, my wife, my two daughters and myself each have iPods and we all have separate iTunes user accounts and separate libraries. My daughters' iTunes music files are on one PC and my wife and my music files are on another. We each maintin separate user accounts and libraries and we want to keep it that way. On all of our iTunes preferences the “Copy files to iTunes Music folder when adding to library” is UNCHECKED because if one user buys a song or burns a song from a CD and another user wants it in their music library, this would allow iTunes to “reference” the music files so we would not end up with 4 copies of the same song if each of wanted it in our Library.

As I understand from reading info on iTunes user forums, the best way to move the music folder is to utilize the “Consolidate Library” feature. This sounds like it will work very well, but in my situation, each user will be “consolidating” their individual libraries into individual user folders on the MSS and all of those music files that are “referenced” will now be copied, in some instances, four times in four separate folders on the server, correct? Although with the new server I have plenty of space, it really seems wasteful. Is there any way around this and still maintain 4 separate libraries and accounts? If not, I will probably just utilize the "consolidate library" method but if anyone else has this situation and has a way around this, I would appreciate it. Thanks.
