Hello,

I have an EX470 (upgrade to 2GB RAM, 3.5TB) and I would like to know if the new software features which enhance media enjoyment are the HP Media Collector and HP Photo Publisher and Photo Viewer if this is going to be available for the 1st generation home servers.

Thanks for your help and I look forward to your reply.....

Thanks,
Greg

HP is porting the Mac compatibility features and the Amazon S3 online backup features sometime in the future. They have not announced any other features from the new models will be brought to the 470 series.

Matt,

I have emailed HP about seeing if we (1st gen owners) will have an upgrade to HP MediaSmart Server version 2, however no word from HP at this time. Maybe you have an inside contact... :-).

Thanks for your help in this and look for to your reply.

Thanks,
Greg

If HP is planning on porting additional functionality, like the Media Collector for example, they're not talking. That means one of three things:

1. They're not bringing any of the other new features to 1st gen owners.

2. They are, but aren't announcing anything for some reason.

3. Are still deciding if and what features to port.

Either way, we'll keep an eye on it. And if we get wind of some new enhancements coming for 1st gen owners, we'll  be sure to post it in the news section.
