I was wonder if anyone has tried hacking the MediaSmart server to add application software like WAMP (Windows Apache/MySQL/PHP) so they can support WEB APs like Drupal, WordPress, PHPlist, etc.?

I am also experiencing a problem with one of my three laptops with MediaSmart Connect.  It is unable to locate the MediaSmart server and I've eliminated the PROXY, Firewall, and Home Server not powered up.  The client is running Win XP Pro SP2.  The other two laptops are running Win XP Media SP3 and Win XP Pro SP3.  My plan is to upgrade to SP3.

On my last note, I saw a video about being able to make my HP MediaSmart server green by putting the server into "Standby" using only 1 watt  of power.  I suspect it is using the "Wake on LAN" feature for client to activate the server to perform a backup.  What do I have to do to take advantage of this feature?

The following YouTube video explains the "Standby" feature:

The following HP info describes the "Standby" feature for the EX48x servers.  I have a EX475 server and hope they can port the feature to this platform.  But I won't hold my breath.

I am interested in being able to load PHPlist on the EX487 I just bought. I tried it once already but ended up christening the Server Restore CD. If anyone knows of an idiot-proof tutorial on the subject, I'd love to see it.
