I was thinking about getting a new Ex485, but I wanted something better than a 2GHz celeron, probably a DC 2.5 E5200. Does anyone know if they will support a CPU upgrade? I'd like to do some video encoding (x264) and a DC 2.5 would be a huge leap over the celeron.

I am sure it would, I would be concerned about the type of cooling it uses and to cool the CPU now. I believe it is a socket 775 800 fsb chip on the celeron. I would be worried about heat issues on a proc upgrade, is there any particular reason for a upgrade?

Yeah, I would think it would, I want the dual core for video encoding, so heat might be an issue. Does the heat sink in there use a standard 775 mount? If so, I could slap an aftermarket low profile HSF on there and be OK. I could care less about noise since its going in a closet.

Has anyone tried this yet? I am getting pretty sick of the lag when using the HP Photo Viewer. It looks like every time a new picture is loaded the processor spikes to 100. I'd like something a bit snappier.
