All you have to do is turn sharing on where the videos are coming from. Then, on your xbox, open up the dashboard (or media center if you're using MS media center) and you'll see the files.
But, you're using wireless and are experiencing issues when streaming. You'll need to run a cable to the xbox to get rid of that.

Hi everyone,
I need help! I am not very proficient in networking but I know that I am capable to share more then the internet at home. I have to do with what I have while I am waiting for the release of the EX485 (for Canada).
I want to be able to use my XBOX 360 as a net extender so I can access everything it can : pictures, music and most important movies for the kids. I am seaching for the most convinient way possible!
First floor: Xbox 360 with wireless adapter (running a wire is quite difficult)
Basement
Router is a Netgear WNR854T, 4 gigabits ports, wireless N (presently set up mixed b,g and n)
CPU 1 is my central point wired to the router with a CAT5E:
vista premium 64bits(don't ask me why!!), TV tuner card Hauppage) 1 gigabit port and 1 wireless card (disable b-g), a 80Gig USB hard drive is connected (only pictures)
CPU2 : XP home with wireless card but can be wired easely
I was able, once, to stream a video (DIVx format)but the image was stopping and voice out of sync. I am using a device dazzle platine from pinnacle to transfert the kid's VHS movie to my computer...(what format would be the best?)
Please help me ... my girlfriend yells at me when I spend too much times trying with poor result...lol
Thanks...
I have a PDF of my network ... if you want to see!
