Hello everyone.

I hope that someone can help me out with this.  I just bought a new HP Pavilion with Media Smart and i wanted to check out how a dvd looked on it.  I loaded in a couple different discs and it just said "No disc loaded into drive.  Please insert a movie".  A little bar will pop up for a second when i put the movie in, but then nothing.  It won't play if i push play.  Any thoughts?

I did back up my system and burned three dvd discs and worked fine, so it is not the laser.  or at least i don't think it is.   It can read CD's and MP3's.

Any help would be great!  Thanks!

Seth

I have exactly the same problem. HP Pavilion, Media Smart and not playing DVDs, only data and music. Is there any known solution?

An update. I noticed that the actual information of the dvd is detected (using an explorer window I see some vob, bup and ifo files inside a video_ts directory).

I tried disabling the autoplay (control panel, autoplay) and tried to play with Windows Media Player and it works. So, something going on with the MediaSmart software. Where does I open a bug for it? Looks that isn't so smart.
