Make sure that you haven't bumped a cable, and caused it to touch a fan blade somewhere.

I did the memory upgrade without much trouble, took a bit longer to do as I was being careful. Now it seems as if the fan is much louder than it was before. I just feel that turning the server off, the sound is irritating. Any ideas why that would be? Looking at the disc management tab on the server console indicates that everything is in the green with the lowest drive at 95F, the second at 84F and the third highest at 80F.
No, it is not loud like a rattle, which is what it would be if something was touching. It sounds like a regular fan, but much louder.
WHICH fan is the loud one? Top or bottom rear? Bottom front (in power supply)? When you look at the MSS Hardware settings, are bith fans showing approximately the same speed? Are the CPU and System temperatures normal? (What are the readings and what is the ambient temperature near the MSS?)
If it is not the power supply fan I would remove the top and make certain the fans are properly connected to the top of the backplane. Also check that nothing is touching either fan. (Shine a flashlight down there.) Turn it on with the top off and if it's not quiet briefly unplug one fan at a time to confirm which is the problem. Switch connectors. Does the other fan get loud or is it the same fan? Switch the connectors back.

I will have to take apart the unit again I guess. The top fan is the louder one.
Hardware status:
Upper Fan: 2636 RPM 32C System
Lower Fan: 1467 RPM 32C CPU
I took apart the system again and now it appears better. I can't see anything that was touching or anything like that, unless I had not put the rear board back on properly the last time. But there had not been any sound of rubbing.
Now Upper fan is 1442 and system is at 34C
Lower Fan is at 1534 and CPU is at 40C
Now it shows the Disc 0 at 102F, Disc 1 is at 91F, disc 2 is at 84F
How do those numbers look compared to what is normal?
Thanks'
The numbers look a little high, but if you have the MSS in a warm room they are likely fine. And if the MSS is under any kind of load they would be normal as well. What is the room temperature? What is the CPU load? (You can go to the Remote Desktop and start the Task Manager to see the current load.) You might look at installing the MSS Fan Control Add-In to bump up the fan speeds a little.
