Have you restarted both the server and the client?

I have a laptop, which has been backuped up last on Oct 31 via wireless connection to my WHS.
Now I can remote desktop to the console and remote connect to the WHS console, no login problems and still actually connected, but the backup will not start when attempting Manual Backup and does not perform Automatic backups anymore.
The option to [Configure Backup] searches but no longer finds my laptop information, even though it is listed as a connected computer.
The Remote Access Settings are still valid from my laptop wirelessly, since I can still run operations from here, but the backups no longer allow connection.
Any ideas on this one?

Yes. Server had been restarted. No luck with that either.
Laptop - Windows Vista Ultimate
The little balloon in the menubar shows the backup has started, then closes and another appears stating that the backup failed because my laptop had been restarted.

Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit (not 64-bit) I ass-u-me?
I would probably start by 8un-installing the connector software (both the HP and the MS WHS parts) on the client and then re-installing the connector.

Yes, Vista 32bit.
That is one of the things I have already tried between my last response and yours thinking it might help. No luck.
I can still connect, remote and WHS access panel, but no access to any folders and still shows the message that my laptop was restarted, even though it hasn't and that is the one connecting through WHS access panel.
I am really confused now.
Router hasn't changed.
Desktop hasn't changed.
I guess I'll need to check the server updates and try reinstalling everything again.
Thanks for the help.

This is only ONE client failing, right? Do you have others that work OK? If that is the case I really would start by un-installing the connector software (both the HP and the MS WHS parts) on the failing client and then re-installing the connector. The server is probably OK if it works fine with other clients.
And before you even try that, what is the behavior if you connect the laptop with a wire instead of wireless?
...JohnBick
Yes. Just this one laptop.
The desktop(head) has no problems, but that is direct connection.
I see your point and no I had not thought of that. I will give that a try and see if that helps.
Yeah. I do not think it is the server, but something with the laptop client and its connection. That is where I have been focused.
It just confuses me since I can still access the Server Panel via wireless on this laptop, but any data transfer connection fails.
I have another laptop, but never got that one connected wirelessly. I will try that one with a direct connection as well to see if that works.
Thanks again

Tested direct connection and it still fails.
Laptop Wireless connection turned OFF, wired connection enabled.
Tested from the Laptop and from the Desktop via WHS control panel.
From laptop I received the same balloons about my system restarting and losing connection.
No reaction when start attempted from desktop.
Going to reinstall again and see what that does.

When you re-install, test WITHOUT ANY ADD-Ins. Keep it simple at first and let's see if we can narrow this down.
