I had an issue with the G.Skill 2GB chip (F2-5300CL4S-2GBPQ - server was randomly crashing once installed) which some have said was compatible. I swapped out for the Crucial 2GB chip and it's been stable ever since, so I would have to recommend it. Its the Crucial 2GB 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 667 (PC2 5300) - CT25664AA667

Are there any known issues with different memory manufacturers?
I tried to install a 667MHz 2GB memory upgrade using "Corsair" memory and my MediaSmart Server went into a constant cycle of restarting.
When I used Remote Desktop Connection to find out what was going on I got an error message saying "windows has recovered from a serious error" and detailing that a device or driver caused a blue screen and for the server to shut down to protect its data.
I updated my MSS with Corsair memory. No problems so far. Has only been a week, tho.

Did you update the virtual memory settings after the upgrade Andy/Served
Served, have you restarted your MSS since the install of the memory? I found that after updates at midnight if the server restarted then it wouldn't boot up first time and would blue screen and send error reports.
Yes, I changed the pagefile settings exactly the same with both memory chips. My server was crashing intermittently with the G.Skill module without any updates being part of the equation. It would just reboot and come back up and show that an unexpected shutdown had occured in the event logs. That stopped once I put in the Crucial module.

Well, I have waited a while since restarting my MSS after the corsair mem upgrade. I have had no problems at all. Running fine. Yes, I updated the virtual memory setting immediately after the mem went in.

Hi there.
I have literally installed the same corsair 2gb ram today (along with 2 additional 1tb hard drives) and everything was fine UNTIL I tried to transfer a large vol of files (70gb) - it blue screened on me. I tried withouth the new drives and still blue screen, then I put the old RAM back in and everything was fine. To be honest it was fine transferring the odd gb here and there but a large chunk caused it to blue screen. So now I'm looking for some different ram!

Hi.
Installed the corsair ram today and everything was great up until the point were i wanted to transfer 70gb of data - then it blue screened after 2-5 mins into the transfer (repeatedly so I had to give up). Put the stock RAM back in and everything was fine. Therefore I'm looking for a different RAM now!

I haven't received my mediasmart server yet but it's on its way. I also ordered a mushkin 2GB module too. The voltage on it was 1.8V but some ram is 2.1V does anyone know what the motherboard ram voltage is on these units? When it boots can you go into the bios setup?

CONFIRMED - 2GB DDR2 667Mhz Corsair Memory causes MSS to bluescreen on every restart (When updates are applied etc.)
Suggest a list of approved memory is published? I'm guessing Kingston is going to be on there?
