OK, I see the two images.

On the first one I cannot read the name of the missing file. What is the missing file name? On the second it looks like "XX" in place of the dates for the updates. Is this correct?

What, if anything, had you done before? Were you upgrading an MSS that had been operational? Is this a new unit that has never been set up? We need a lot more information about this before we can be of much help.

Some suggestions I can give in the blind like this are:

(1) There have been reports of "missing file" situations over on http://www.mediasmartserver.net -- you might go over there and search on the name of the missing file to see if there is anything for your particular missing file situation.

(2) Since you can actually access the console, update the WHS software (in the "Settings" area) and then the HP software again -- but I suspect you probably tried that.

(3) Perform a RESTORE operation and reload the MSS software. Note I said RESTORE, not Factory Reset. This will NOT cause you to loose any data. On the other hand, if this is a new unit and you have no date on the MSS then I would actually do the Factory Reset. (But if you have data do the RESTORE so you do not loose it!)

Well doing the Restore fixed the issue! Thanks for the tip!

Just FYI this started after some update. I believe it was an HPmedia smart update and not a MS HS update. It had been that way for about 3 months. From a client perspective it worked as it should. Just when you went to the console or Remote desktop did you get these errors.
