Hello All,

I tried to create a website on a shared folder but it would work.

I had no problems configuring using IIS and the web add-in to point to a folder within the internet\www and i'm able to create a link and access the site but if i point to a folder on a shared folder it doesnt work.

Can this not be done, use a shared folder as your root folder for a website???

Have you checked out Whiist?

Whiist is what i used to create the link to my webpage but thats not the problem.

Not sure if i'm missing something with whiist but far as i can see it only helps to create a link to your page so that you can place on your login page..

my problem is:
the only way pages seem to work(this has nothing to do with the default page, the pages i'm talking about are the once i create) is if i put my content under the folder c:\inetpub\wwwroot\newfolder-content.

I can't seem to get the webpages to appear if there under the shared folder D:\shareds\wwwroot\

I even changed the home directory(iis) to reflect the folder D:\shareds\wwwroot\ and it still wouldn't work so i had to go back to the original setting --> c:\inetpub\wwwroot\newfolder-content, but this makes it hard to upload the webpage files.
i have to copy it to a shared folder then copy it to c:\inetpub\wwwroot\newfolder-content.

With whiist... you can create pages and then point whiist to the folder you are storing those pages. you don't have to put them in inetpub.

I tried that and it keeps saying page not found.

would be the path to put in if the folder is in the shared folder?
