I read time machine doesn't work at all with Mac and all you can do with the MSS is basic network sharing. You can't do auto backups and all the stuff MSS was meant for.

Hello everyone!
I realize being a Mac owner that I am in the minority here, but
nonetheless I went forward today and bought a HP Media Smart server.
Being the minority here I hope that I find someone else who is using
the HP MSS with a Macintosh.
I basically need to know what I need to do to set this up to work.
I am guessing that once I hook this unit into my USB or Firewire that
Mac will recognize the HP MSS and all 4 drives that I will install/are
preinstalled. From that point, if I format each drive in MacJournal
via Mac Disc Utility, all drives should be fully usable.
Just a couple questions....
Can I still do remote access to my drives from the HP Media Smart website?
Keeping the drives plugged in will Time Machine work and constantly
write to them?
Would appreciate anyone now using HP MSS with Mac giving a basic
overview of setting this up.
Thanks in advance!
