I'd like to replace the standard Home Server Security Certificate with one that I buy from a Certificate Authority so that people who access photos don't see the severe warning message that always appears when they connect to my server.

I'd be grateful for suggestions on how to do this.

There is another Home Server site that has a tutorial on this subject. GO to http://www.myhomeserver.com/ on the right side of their home page is a list of tutorials, check out the one titled: TUTORIAL: Purchasing and Installing a Secure Certificate for your HP MediaSmart server

Hope this helps.
