Is is the MediaSmart Server that's giving you this message or your own computer? Given the wording, I'd say it's the server.
What's the username you're using to log in?

When I try to connect, it looks like it's going to connect and I get a splash screen saying that it's on the HP Server, but then an error message pops up that says...
To log onto this computer, you must be granted the Allow log on through terminal services. By default, members of the remote desktop Users group has this right. If you are not a member of the Remote Desktop Users group or another group that has this right, or if the Remote Desktop Users group does not have this right, you must be granted the right manually.
So how can I grant this "right"
Yes, it's the MediaSmart server giving the error when I'm trying to Remote Desktop Connect using my laptops "RDC" program in Vista. The username I'm using is the same one I log onto with my laptop and the same one that has administrative rights on the server.
I just resolved the same problem. Check out this thread on MediaSmartServer.com:

and this one on the MS Vista forum:

Somewhere there is another thread referencing those on this board as well -- thi those are the key links.

Can anybody tell me if it is possible to remotely access the Server from a Tablet PC running XP Tablet Edition? I would be grateful if anybody currently using XP Tabled Edition to do so can give me some feedback if there are any hitches or limitations.
I am made to understand XP Tablet Edition is based on XP Professional and should work fine but would like some confirmation.
