This is a quick questions for the admins here...  I know of a fantastic add-in for media streaming that's free.  It's not mine, but I've seen it on other sites.  Since I'm not the author am I allowed to post it in the Add-ins section?

OK, I'll bite... What is it?

Could post it over on http://www.MediaSmartServer.net where we frequently share "good finds". Should post it in the Add-Ins section over there as a new thread, even though there are MANY such posts under Software.

It's no secret... it's Webguide, but since I didn't write it, nor have any affiliation to it, I didn't know if I could post the link.

I think it's pretty good.

Hi spokrie,

Thanks for wanting to contribute to the MediaSmart Home Community. Ideally, it would be great if the add-in author could submit their work to the add-ins section so they can put in all the relevant information and get full credit under their own community account. If you can, shoot the author a message and tell them about the new community here. I'm sure they'll want to submit their add-in to our downloads area. Or, they can send us a specific request to include them and we'll take it from there. :-)

Hi spokrie,

It's been brought to my attention that I may have misread your question above, so I'd like to take a moment to clarify.

We have a specific add-in section here at MediaSmart Home (http://www.mediasmarthome.com/download/list) where add-in creators are able to upload their add-ins directly to the list for download. In your initial question, I was under the impression you were asking if you could submit an add-in to this area. For now, we're asking that only the owners/creator of the add-in submit their work to this area. As a courtesy to add-in developers, we want to make sure we have their permission to act as a mirror or download location for their software.

We do also have an add-in forum in the forums area (http://www.mediasmarthome.com/forums/5/Add-ins-and-Software/threads) We absolutely encourage everyone to link to, discuss, and ask questions about any add-in in this area regardless of where it resides.

I hope this helps clarify a few things. If anyone has any questions, I'm happy to field them.

No that's fine. That's why I didn't want to post it since it wasn't mine, and I didn't know how to really get ahold of the author.

To give you a hand, I'll see if I can track down the author and ask if they'll let us host it here. Until then, feel free to create a new thread about it in the forums with a link to it and your thoughts on why you think this add-in is great (or not so great... whichever is applicable). :-)
