Greetings all! Looking forward to getting/giving a lot in here.

Anyone with multiple disks going full bore on the sharing? I'm holding back right now (have a 500gb, and 750gb currently installed) just because i don't want to find i'm one of the few who have the data corruption problem. That is not to say that I dont' have media on there but they are copies, not the sole versions.

I haven't streamed one of them since i upgraded the network driver but I did find (beforehand) that i had some stuttering when I was streaming. the server is basically right next to my 360 but just one floor below and about 20 feet of cabling separating them (Gig from server to switch and 100MB from switch to 360). I could stream via tversity from my main pc the same file with no stutter, and there is about 130 feet of cable between that pc and the switch.

I was an early adopter. Ordered my first HP server before they were available. I am now running two in my home. One is running 1TB and is backing up all my ethernet boxes and ITUNES library. My ITUNES library is approaching 700gig. ITUNES is hosted on a purpose quadcore server and the ITUNES library for that server is hosted on a 1TB NAS. The HP WHS box backs up the ITUNES library on the NAS. Never had a data corruption problem. I have been moving a ton of data for months.

The problem I am having is that HP WHS ITUNES backup software appears to operate at the folder level when looking for changes. If you add below the folder level WHS will not see the change and not back it up. I have to manually back up all my movies and TV shows from the NAS to HP WHS ITUNES file.

I also have to manually back up the ethernet server to the second HP WHS server on my wireless N network as they of course DONT SEE EACH other. What a pain that is.

That is a pain..

Interesting on the subfolder issue.Let me make sure I'm understanding it correctly

You are saying that if I have a Movie Folder, and in that folder I have two folders 'Kids' and 'Ours' and then put movies in those folders (the usual dvd rip, VIDEO_TS etc) it won't see those folders?

I think he's referring specifically to the HP iTunes backup software that's included with the HP MediaSmart Servers. Based on my experience so far as a MediaSmart Server owner, this isn't the case with the Music/Videos/Photos folders. Am I following you right rob the elder?
