Though you wouldn't know it looking at the ASoft site, they're now serving up Beta 3 of the killer AutoExit for Windows Home Server Add-in. AutoExit give you the ability to shut down, reboot, hibernate and wake computers in your home network from within the Windows Home Server console.
According to the Asoft site, Beta 2 and Beta 3 aren't exactly friendly with eachother, so make sure you uninstall and remove any previous versions from the add-in folder.
Here's a little more about what's happening in Beta 3:
New features in this beta:
- WOL Server from client is now possible. So waking up the server can now be done from every client.
- Gives a notification the first time the addin starts up with a small instruction set.
Changes:
- The guideline is now a PDF instead of XPS.
- The guideline now has more info, is more clear, uptodate,...
- Give the client installer a more understandable name. (autoexitclient.exe instead of aewhsclt.exe)
- Place the guideline & client installer in a seperate folder. In the previous version these 2 files were copied to \\server\software, now these are copied to \\server\software\autoexit.
- The statistics are now sorted descending.
- When the client service wasn't running, and the user clicked the link to restart it, then the status wasn't always updated correclty.
- Hibernate/Sleep now supports force and wake up events. In the previous version, force was used by default and wake up events were disabled.
- The correct folder (software/logiciel) is chosen based on the language of the WHS.
Hop on over and grab the download from the Add-Ins area.
