A. The HP MediaSmart Server is an easy-to-use Home Server that is based on the Microsoft Windows  Home Server operating system. The MediaSmart Server provides users with automatic backup of all networked PCs and Macs, automatic organization of media across all of the PCs, media streaming across home networks and the internet, photo sharing tied to popular social networking websites, remote access to files and virtually limitless storage expandability.

Q. Who is the target market for the HP MediaSmart Server? 

A. The HP MediaSmart Server is targeted at connected families - households who have multiple computers on a home network and are living the “digital lifestyle”.  These families have a passion for digital media - photos, music, and video and have tons of it, which requires storage and centralization.  Research shows that over the next four years consumers with a home network will continue to accumulate up to several terabytes (TB) of personal and commercial content stored in the home, in the form of digital photographs, ripped CDs, home movies and downloaded video and music files.  It is estimated that 4.8 million households will have a home server by 2012. Q. Are you also targeting Small/Medium Business?

A.  Our focus with MediaSmart Server is the consumer market.  However, very small businesses (1-10 employees) can certainly benefit from the HP MediaSmart Server and automatic backup of PCs and Macs, centralization and sharing of documents, remote access to files and virtually limitless storage expandability.
